Jacob Nixon House Museum - 1514 Wilson Street

Preservation in Progress

This iconic shotgun Shogun house (built circa 1910), was home of the Jacob Nixon family, and  has many historic designations including sharing of the recognition as a 2019 “Site of Memory Associated to the UNESCO Slave Route”.” It is one of the few remaining structures of its kind in Freedmen’s Town.

It needs $200,000 more to add the tour gathering and archaeology lab building and to complete restoration as the Archaeology Field School Workshop & Gallery.
